Twi- Epidemic

For this week's analysis I chose to write about the current "Twilight" saga. Over the last year or so the Twilight books and movies have gained momentum and become one of the biggest popular culture influences today. Women of all ages have become "Twi- Fans" and maybe even a few men.
Teenagers and their moms are dying to become one of the undead. Robert Pattison has made being a vampire one of the most romantic, sexy, and mystifying things possible. The character he plays (Edward Cullen) has made older women relive the romances they once dreamed about, while teenagers are being introduced to their first love triangle (vampire, werewolf, human). His better half in the saga is Bella Swan, a young woman who once felt like the definition of plain and awkward, is transformed to the obsession of every male she comes in contact with Who would have knew that moving to one of the dreariest places in the world would turn the " ugly Duckling into a Swan".
There have been a total of three out of the four books produced into movies. The last es released is "Eclipse". According to MTV.com since it's release on Wednesday June 30th the movie has grossed over 161 million. Of Course compared to the obscene amount that will be made from the bookmarks , t-shirts, backpacks, cupcakes, and every other item you want with a Twilight logo this is change.
One can only imagine what fans will do why they wait for the 2011 release of "Breaking Dawn". Will they denounce both Jacob and Edward and create team Charlie. There no sure way to tell, so I guess we will just have to wait.
